Adopting a Pet

I’m ready, now what?

Adopting a Pet is nothing to take lightly.  It is a life time (for the entire life of the animal, about 12-18yrs) commitment and needs to be considered rationally, weighing time, costs, and family dynamics before selecting and taking a pet home.

If you’re ready to adopt, please fill out an adoption application and we will get in touch with you as soon as possible. Please be patient as we are all volunteers.

All adoptions include spay/neuter, microchip, shots to date, fecal, deworming (typically multiple), HW test & prevention for adults, 30 days of pet insurance and a $50 training rebate.

The Adoption Process

  • Complete an adoption application & sign adoption contract

All applications that do not have a specific animal listed are void of notes/comments for a general preapproval.

The application is to be pre-approved for an event and it is your responsibility to contact iResQ when you see a pet you want to adopt.

  • Adoption application will be reviewed as soon as possible

If you want to do a meet a greet first, please mention that in the comments or it will be assumed you know that is the pet you want.

  • If approved, an email will be sent to you from the rescue

Always check your junk folder. If you do not receive an email, contact the rescue and/or volunteer you have been speaking with.

  • Pay adoption fee, sign hard copy of acknowledgement (e-signatures coming soon) and send fully executed acknowledgement to rescue

Payment in full is required to consider an adoption finalized. We do not hold animals for anyone including our fosters, and we do not accept deposits to hold animals. Until payment is rendered in full the animal IS STILL AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION BY ANYONE APPROVED.

The rescue reserves the right to refund any adopters money and cancel an adoption at any time before the animal is released. iResQ’s goal is to ensure the safety of the animal in finding the best ‘furever’ home that fits them.

  • Take home your new family member

All rescue animals must be fully ‘vetted’ and/or sterilized prior to being able to go home. Take home date could vary from immediately to a few weeks.
